Swimming & Diving: Westminster Dispatches Mount Union in Final Dual Meet

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Westminster College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each won their final dual meets of the season on Sunday at Mount Union in a non-conference dual meet that was originally scheduled for Saturday but postponed because of the weekend snowstorm.
The Titan men won 161-128 to finish the season with a 6-3 record. The Titan women brought home a 163-135 victory to finish the year with a 7-3 mark.
Westminster claimed 18 events at the meet, including eight on the men's side and 10 on the women's side.
Sophomore Caitlin Lehberger (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) was the only Titan to win three individual events, as she touched first in the 100- (1:07.37) and 200-yard (2:26.37) breaststrokes as well as the 200 individual medley (2:10.94). Her times in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes were also NCAA provisonal qualifying "B" cut times.
Senior Emily Dressler (Hummelstown, Pa./Mount Calvary Christian) was the other Titan woman to win multiple events, capturing the 100 (56.44) and 200 (1:58.96) freestyles.
Dressler anchored the winning 200 medley relay team (1:54.89), which also consisted of individual event-winners in freshmen Lyndsey Vogler (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) and Carolyn Swarlis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth), who took the 500 freestyle (5:26.97) and 100 butterfly (1:02.42), respectively.
On the men's side, seniors Ben Gutmann (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) and Brett Gerthoffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) each won two events as well as swimming the last two legs of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:39.58).
Gutmann won the 100 (1:00.35) and 200 (2:13.27) breaststrokes, and Gerthoffer captured the 50 (22.01) and 100 (49.37) freestyles.
Westminster also won a diving event, as freshman Nathaniel Kronenwetter (Danville, Pa./Danville) won the 1-meter event with a score of 134.05.
