NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The snowstorm predicted for Friday and Saturday lived up to the hype with 12 to 18 inches of snow on the ground across much of Lawrence County. Some communities report up to 22" of snow. Parts of roads like Route 19 in Washington and Plain Grove Townships are closed in places because of large snow drifts.

While some residents are coping with downed trees and power lines and outages, others are digging out. Many churches are canceling scheduled services for the weekend as many roads remained closed. PennDOT crews as well as road crews for many townships and boroughs are working overtime while residents also try to dig out sidewalks and driveways.
