NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- For 12 seasons now, Girish Thakar has served as the head coach for soccer at Westminster. This year he coached the men's soccer team into the PAC playoffs with a 10-10 record. The women also saw some playoff action with a 13-6-1 record.
Thakar's leadership has lead Westminster's soccer program to eight conference championships and 13 postseason appearances. Westminster has also qualified for the NCAA Championships eight times, including three for the men (2002, 2004, 2008) and five for the women (2002-05, 2007). Thakar was named PAC Coach of the Year four times, three for women's soccer (2002, 2005, 2006) and one for men's (2008).
