NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Swimming and diving are back together again at Westminster College with the tough now getting tougher. The men and women train and compete in rigorous competitions that bring out the best in each of them while they also have some fun. They're preparing for some fun in the sun over the winter break. The teams travel to Winter Park for a dual meet with Rollins on Jan. 9.

The Florida trip is one of the opportunities for the teams to bond and grow while traveling off campus, yet it also feeds the competitive spirit. WCN 24/7's Brett Gerthoffer shows how the team comes together in the spirit of competition.

With the new season underway, college officials are pleased with the decision to reinstate diving as part of the program for men and women.

Westminster had competed exclusively in swimming events since the 1993-94 season, following the program's last year as swimming and diving in 1992-93. Diving provides the teams new opportunities to grow and excel as student athletes.

The Titans won 17 events at the 2009 PAC Championships, six produced by the men and 11 from the women. There were also 22 school and nine PAC records set during the season. The Westminster women sent a relay team to the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time in team history as the Titans finished tied for 20th place in the final team standings.

"There's more focus on the NCAAs," Klamut said, even referring to those who missed the cut. "More people are talking about that, saying 'Hey, we are close.'"
