Derrick Burns Following In Older Brother's Footsteps

NEW WILMINGTON, Lawrence County--NEW WILMINGTON, Lawrence County-- Wilmington Area High School football star Derrick Burns will return to Greyhound Stadium for another football season for his senior year this fall, however the running back and linebacker will head to the University of Pittsburgh in 2010. Burns will receive a full ride to the University by joining the Panther football squad after graduating high school following in the footsteps of his older brother and Pitt running back Chris Burns.
The younger Burns has given his verbal commitment to Pitt. In fact, he was the first commitment for 2010 the Panthers received. WCN's Melissa Maines talks one on one with Burns about his decision to head to Pitt and what's in store as he looks forward to his final year at Wilmington High.
