NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The Westminster College dance studio wasn't always a dance studio. Long before there were yoga classes and dance rehearsals in the basement of Old 77, there were relay races and synchronized swimming performances.
The dance studio was once a swimming pool which was used by the Westminster swim team and the Mermaids, a women's synchronized swimming team.
The pool was built in 1926 and was used for 50 years by students and the community before it was relocated to the field house.
WCN's Shayna Marti takes a look at the forgotten history of the swimming pool and explains how it gave way to today's modern campus dance studio.
